Dr. Charles Simpson
Dr. Simpson was introduced to chiropractic at the age of 5 years old when first adjusted by Dr. Jeffery Pitts, who is also Dr. Simpson’s brother-in-law. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University in Nutrition and Fitness in 1995 he went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. He graduated with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1999 and went on to practice with Dr. Pitts for five years. He opened up his private practice in January 2004 and has not looked back since. Dr. Simpson is a member of Oakcrest Baptist Church and his hobbies include motorcycles, camping, mountain biking, and snowboarding. Born in Ocala in 1973, he still resides in Ocala, FL. Dr. Simpson enjoys spending his free time with his wife Leslie, their son Cameron, and their daughter Olivia.
Dr. David R. Martin
Dr. David R. Martin, B.Sc., D.C. is a veteran of the U.S. Army. While in active duty he served with the 1st Ranger Battalion in Savannah, GA and 1/508 Special Operations Airborne unit in Central America. Once Dr. Martin finished his military service, he then completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida and Regents College in New York State receiving a Bachelor Degree in Biology. He went to Life University in Marietta, GA where he earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree in 1999.To stay abreast of the latest advances in chiropractic and natural health care, Dr. Martin attends many postgraduate seminars including topics such as physiological therapeutics, rehabilitation, and fitness therapy exercise. Since 1999 Dr. Martin has performed over 450,000 adjustments. Dr. Martin, his wife Ryan and children reside in Ocala, FL.
Dr. Susan Sands
Dr. Sands is a native of Ocala. She was raised in southeast Ocala on a farm and in her earlier years rode American Quarter Horses. After graduating from Forest High School she attended Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida to become a dental hygienist. After experiencing chiropractic for neck problems, she decided to pursue a career change, so she packed up and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her bachelors and doctorate degree at Life University in 1998.
Dr. Sands believes in treating her patients like they are a part of her family. She embraces the approach to wellness by treating the whole person. She uses a range of diverse techniques in combination with rehabilitation, exercise and nutrition to help her patients achieve and maintain optimal health. She also treats patients with more severe injuries after motor vehicle accidents.
Dr. Sands enjoys boating, lake activities of all kinds and just being on Lake Weir. She is a member of the Lake Weir Yacht Club. She likes to watch University of Florida football, baseball, and softball.
Dr. Sands volunteers her time with several local charities. She won the Jane Mansfield Award for outstanding dedication to leadership and community service from the Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership. She recently retired from serving on the board of the CEP for Leadership for fourteen years. She remains an active member of the Business Network International (BNI) Profit Makers for the past fourteen years.
Tenille
Hi! My name is Tenille. I began working at Downtown Chiropractic and Wellness Center in December of 2023. I am a licensed massage therapist and have been practicing since 2005. I have additional certification in Neuromuscular Massage Therapy and Sports Massage. It is my passion in life to help people achieve overall health and wellness. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, and cooking for friends and family. I look forward to helping you find new solutions to improve your quality of life through therapeutic massage.
Laura
Laura's focus in the office is to make sure everything runs smoothly. She has been with us since 2012. Laura handles all of the Billing and Insurance. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Laura enjoys camping, reading and the beach.
